Asava SS13 : The Hibiscus Heiress print

I am always grateful when seeing my own print design featured on those beautiful clothes by leading designer brand. This season also, Asava gave me another chance to develop the print and graphics for the house. As summer approaches, the soft sand and clear blue ocean set in lush, tropical surroundings is something every girl dreams of.  Polpat Asavaprapha, director of asava’s housebrings a hint of Hawaii inspired by his latest trip there and combines it with the sporty, feminine characteristics of New York’s jet-setters like Doris Duke to create a new collection for Spring/Summer 2013 under the name “The Hibiscus Heiress”. “this season’s signature prints were inspired by tropical flowers of Maui as well as the cat print, creating kaleidoscope patterns and mixing them with horizontal…

Illustration for The Vintage Tales : A brief history of grandma’s clothing

ในที่สุดก็มีเวลารวบรวมภาพประกอบสำหรับหนังสือ The Vintage Tales ที่ทำไปเมื่อปลายปี 2012 มาให้ชมกัน หนังสือเล่มนี้เป็นการนำเสนอแฟชั่นวินเทจ นั่นคือตั้งแต่ยุค 20s ถึง 90s มาเรียบเรียงไว้ให้อ่านง่าย มีภาพประกอบสวยงาม วิธีทำเบสิคมาก คือ วาดเส้นดินสอในสมุดสเกตช์ ลงสี,แสงเงาคร่าวๆ จากนั้นแสกนเข้าคอมพิวเตอร์แล้วลงสีในคอมทับหรือปรับสีให้ชัดเจน เพื่อที่เวลานำมาพิมพ์แล้วจะได้มีความคมชัดนั่นเอง สำหรับยุคที่วาดในหนังสือเล่มนี้ส่วนของอุ้งคือ 20s, 40s, 60s, 90s ค่ะ Here are some drawings in my sketchbooks Twiggy in Mods style Structure of Madonna’s style THE VINTAGE TALES BOOK Published by Polkadot Books, Bangkok, Thailand in 2012 และวันนี้ก็นำภาพถ่ายของหนังสือทั้งด้านนอกด้านในมาให้ดูสำหรับคนที่ยังไม่ได้เป็นเจ้าของด้วย สำหรับภาพที่ถ่ายมานี้คือเฉพาะส่วนที่อุ้งวาดค่ะ คือ ยุค 20s , 40s, 60s และ 80s ค่ะ ส่วนที่เหลือนั้นเป็นฝีมือของพี่พิงค์ (Chatchanok Wong) และพี่จี๊ป คงเดชกุล นักวาดภาพประกอบชื่อดังที่เห็นลายสั้นกันบ่อยๆที่ร้าน Flynow iii นั่นเองต้องขอบคุณฝีมือการจัดวาง layout ของทีมงาน Polkadot ที่ทำให้หนังสือออกมาน่ารักน่าเก็บมาก สำหรับใครที่ยังไม่ได้เป็นเจ้าของ สามารถหาซื้อหาเก็บได้จากร้านหนังสือชั้นนำทั่วไป หรือไปงานสัปดาห์หนังสือแห่งชาติที่กำลังจะถึงนี้  วันที่ 29 มี.ค. – 8 เม.ย. 2556 โซนเพลนนารีฮอลล์ ศูนย์ประชุมแห่งชาติสิริกิติ์ มีโปรโมชั่นมากมายให้เลือกค่ะ Kamonnart Ong, xx

A Journey to Sustainia

‘A Journey to Sustainia is a fashion collection made by me & Miki (Sasithorn Premchit) for Saha Group Bangkok Young Designer Awards 2012.
The topic for the contest was ‘The Next World : Trendwatching for 2012″  - To live with nature happily and stylishly ever after.
Rather than representing a future of sacrifices and restraints, We choose to offer the audience the more desirable way of thinking instead.
(Yeah, who wants to follow a pessimist?) As we believe that Doomsday scenarios and pictures of melting icebergs take-on-fashion are more than enough.
We want to create a positive and inspiring visualization of what sustainable living could possibly be.
So we did a lot of research on sustainable urban developing and architecture, and finally found Sustainia,
a project to create a sustainable growth & better future, founded by Scandinavian think tank Monday Morning (read more about Sustainia here)

Inspired by Sustainia, The collection is not about a Utopia or a distant dream, or futuristic science fiction.
It’s a vision of what a sustainable world would look like and be like to live in.
The result was this collection that will take you a journey to Sustainia, a fascinating city you wouldn’t want to leave.
(And yeah..at last we got the Best Childrenwear Awards from the Contest!)

Nouvelle – AW13/14 Fashion Trend Forecast Project

These below are some of the pages I selected from my first trend forecasting project when I was in the third year at uni.
We are assigned to create the AW13/14 fashion trend book, which was a three-people group project (I was with Mark and Ja)
Our group started with an idea of the world after the apocalypse and came up with three ideas : Newlander, Nuclear Hero & New Hope
Each of the main trends consists of two different micro trends which are described in the visual information :
The story, keywords, color way, materials, print, surface, A-must details, texture, silhouettes & A-must items

1. Newlander (Lost Souls / Habitation)

Returning the overturned : It is the simple way to get back the balance by adjusting the modern living to the way in the age the balance was

2. Nuclear Hero (Warriors / Artificial World)

The absolute authority : It is the way to dominate and take full control over the nature, to keep things exactly in the way the mankind desires

3. New Hope (Kepler / Mutation)

The renounce and resettle, is the interstellar imperialism, finding an untouched land to abandon the old troublesome ship that we were born and grew on
