Founded in 1999, wwa bangkok opened their very first boutique at Siam Square, the area full of life at that time. After having moved to some few spaces around, Here is the final address of wwa boutique. Located in the same old Siam Square but with completely different atmosphere. The boutique set up at the third floor of the building above the old Swensens near Siam Square soi 7.
The space was built in loft style, in the old structure which they decided to keep all the traces and stains. Decorated in stark, raw-material warehouse atmosphere, you can see plenty of exposed structure, bare cement, and unfinished details here. Just like their clothing label philosophy – There is a mix of deconstructive, minimalist and brutalist qualities from every little inches of the space – From the stairs to the toilet.
For the clothes, Here you won’t find any of those mainstream, trendy-and-flashy pieces that follow the runway influences, which we normally see in every conventional clothing store. On the contrary, wwa makes clothes from their own philosophy , unlike anyone and anywhere else. Their garments are in plain colour , with almost no prints, but are special in shape & form instead. Some might say they were strange, but If you are looking for some dresses that would make you stand out from the crowd in a subtle, understated way – this is the right place for you. Despite never stating itself as opposed to the mainstream, the rebel label has already caught the heart of their niche group of fans and customers for more than ten years. Alongside wwa, there are also other designer labels who share the similar vision to WWA available at the boutique, including sadudee, the alchemists, curated by ek thongprasert, anti utopia, t&t, vasuthida, ake ake, and trimode accessories.
Few years before, wwa opened their café in the boutique for the first time (I have tried some dishes and drinks and they were greater than expectation). The chairs are all covered in black fabric , which are one of the key elements of wwa style. The menu is simply designed within one page , without photos or other things that will distract you from the detailed ingredients list that is written clearly. I would recommend green pea & garlic soup served with bread and sea-salt butter (B220) , grioche with garlic soft herb cheese & served with plum chutney (B160), and pink Lemonade (B90)
I’m wearing : white pump shoes, sunglasses and textured bag from Charles & Keith , skirt from COS and jacket from Topshop
wwa bangkok boutique is definitely my most favorite secret destination whether to check out new pieces for my wardrobe, or to enjoy silent, peaceful afternoon tea and dinner with my loved ones. And the good news is, they will serve brunch soon.
