The fashion week in London has ended and after running all around town from both my internship and contribution job, I just had a time to organise and write some posts from what I have been here and there. Sunday 14th I was at the backstage of Topshop UNIQUE Spring/Summer 2015 show and witnessed how they worked in the international industry. Found that nothing much is different, just that the models here are Jourdan Dunn, Lily Donaldson and yes, Cara Delevigne.
Out of the backstage was the Topshop Showspace venue , located on Gray’s Inn Road just opposite the King’s Cross St Pancras station. Witnessed numbers of big names in the media (some of them were my teenage-hood dreams) like Alexa Chung, Heilee Steinfeld, Kelly Osbourne, and so on.
Nobody doubted it when the girl of the moment Cara Delevigne opened the show. Topshop UNIQUE always put the cool subcultures of the British Isles at their heart. For SS15, they took us to the British seaside, from pier to Pleasure Beach. The faded glamour mixed with a switched-on, youthful spirit created the core of the collection : a dance-all-night, sea-sprayed celebration of British youth culture that lives for the weekend. For colour, derived from seaside and bright lights, they were clean and bold primaries in the first set. The latter looks came off with dance wear sparkles and ice-cream pastels. Cool, Laid-back and relaxed.
Basically, It’s a jam of Sportwear + Dancehall and Girly girls meet Tomboys.
