During the recent London Fashion Week in the end of February, I have had a chance to visit Burberry Makers House , where the showcase of the inspiration, the process and design references behind the brand’s second see-now-buy-now collection are exposed. Makers House was opened as a fashion exhibition, offering the public the chance to celebrate the new runway collection freshly after the show, alongside the work of Henry Moore, the iconic artist that inspired it.
Originally from the US, Renegade Craft Fair is an exposition of handmade quality, celebrating DIY makers community – from independent artisans to craft businesses. Their London event was held at the Old Truman Brewery event hall in Brick Lane on Nov 22-23. I was there on Sunday, without the intention to buy anything but ended up with two packages in my backpack before I even realised. Because you can find everything you need for this gift-giving season, with more than 200 makers selling everything from holiday inspired stationeries and gift wrap, one-of-a-kind jewellery, ceramics, clothing, knits, to illustrated art prints and posters, housewares and much more.
